Kettlebell Basics Training Camp

A six week kettlebell intensive course designed to progress you through the six basic kettlebell drills: swing, squat, clean, press, snatch and get up. You will also learn how to create a solid foundation and stabilize your shoulder girdle and spine to protect your back and prevent injury. These skills apply not only to kettlebell training but all movement whether it’s an exercise at AOS or working at your computer. Each class builds upon the skills learned in the previous class. This six week session will increase your comfort level with the kettlebell as well as your confidence during the AOS classes you attend. Experienced kettlebellers will also benefit by fine tuning form.

Week 1
  • Slingshot
  • Figure 8
  • Figure 8 to a hold
  • Halo
  • Sumo deadlift
  • Dead swing
  • Vintage swing
  • Swing proper
  • Clean
  • Begin Turkish get up-punch up to hand

Week 2
  • Triple crush
  • Goblet squat
  • Single arm swing
  • Alternating swing
  • Clean and press
  • Continue with Turkish get up-to standing, no weight
Week 3
  • Hand to hand squats
  • Two handed swing release
  • Front (racked) squat
  • Turkish get up, with weight

Week 4
  • Squat catch
  • High pulls
  • Windmills, no weight

Week 5
  • Snatch
  • Windmills, with weight

Week 6

This session is used as a review of the movements covered in the previous sessions focusing on trouble areas.

Kettlebell Basics is a 6-week commitment. You commit to this, we’ll commit to your success.

NOTE: This class needs a minimum of 4 members in order to run. Max of 8 people so reserve your spot early!
